The Gladiator G30 horizontal directional drill combines a 147 hp Cummins diesel engine with 29,380 lbf of maximum thrust and pullback and 4,052 lb-ft of maximum spindle torque. Current G30 models feature an 80 US gpm onboard mud pump, with maximum drilling fluid pressure of 1,080 psi. Earlier machines with serial numbers ending 1001–1004 have a 52 US gpm onboard mud pump.
Automatic rod loading, a 65-rod onboard rack, a rotating cab with air-conditioning controls, and dual rack-and-pinion carriage drive support productive utility drilling. Hydraulic anchors, adjustable mud flow, thread lubrication, and hydraulic clamps support setup and operation.
